Our Story

  • 1998

    Established in 1998 as a wholesale company called Hi-Volt, selling automotive starter batteries, we quickly became Ireland's biggest battery importer, initially importing solely from the UK and then from China, Korea & Hungary. 

     

    Two years after inception, we added various other types of batteries such as VRLA (Sealed Lead Acid) and Motorcycle batteries.  

  • 2011

    In 2011, we opened up our first Retail Shop in Dublin, and now have 6 retail shops in total across the UK & Ireland. We currently employ 24 members of staff across all operations, and in 2018, we sold over 120,000 batteries of all specification types, and sizes.

     

    With our first retail store, we began to experiment and push the boundaries of what we can do, and have successfully been rebuilding various types of Power Tool Batteries including obscure Battery packs for various applications. 

  • 2015

    In 2015, we introduced an LED LIGHTING Range which we have had tremendous success with over 10,000 LED fittings sold in 2018.

  • 2018

    In 2018 we opened our first Battery World store in the UK mainland in Birmingham.
